NCR Introduces Extended RealPOS 70 Terminal

ATLANTA -- Tulsa, Okla.-based QuikTrip is among the first convenience store operators to order NCR Corp's. extended RealPOS 70 terminal, which introduces a 17-inch touchscreen display model, offering c-store operators improved ability to manage their point-of-sale (POS) and fuel operations from a single integrated workstation.

According to NCR, convenience store operators need to view and control fuel pump activities on the POS terminal while also handling store checkout transactions. This is a challenge for stores with large fuel operations, because the pump icons can quickly fill up a conventional-sized POS display.

"C-stores that have large numbers of fuel pumps are often forced to use drop-down windows or other techniques for their store transactions, which can slow customer service," said John Saccomanno, director of convenience store industry marketing for NCR. "A 17-inch display offers ample 'real estate' so cashiers can see everything at once and move quickly between fuel pumps and checkout activities. The NCR RealPOS 70 is the only integrated POS terminal offering a touchscreen display this large."

QuikTrip recently placed an order to install NCR RealPOS 70 terminals with 17-inch displays in all of its more than 440 locations. Nearly 20,000 NCR RealPOS 70 terminals have been delivered or ordered worldwide since it began shipping in December 2003.
