Miller Recognized for Diversity

MILWAUKEE -- Miller Brewing Co. received the 2002 Wisconsin Governor's Diamond Award for promoting a diverse workforce at the management and decision-making levels. The award, from the Wisconsin Glass Ceiling Commission, recognized Miller for its commitment to developing and maintaining a diverse environment, efforts to create training programs that allow employees to maintain individual development plans, and success in measuring the effectiveness of the brewer's diversity initiatives.

"Miller Brewing Company has made an active and positive effort to develop a diverse workforce, and I am pleased to present the company with the 2002 Governor's Diamond Award," said Governor Scott McCallum. "Miller's programs and efforts work to eliminate the 'glass ceiling' and promote more opportunities for minorities and women. Miller is doing a terrific job, and the company embodies what opportunity in Wisconsin is all about."

"We take great pride in continuing our efforts to make Miller Brewing Company a diverse, productive and opportunity-rich organization," said Danae Davis, director of diversity at Miller Brewing Company. "Collectively, these awards showcase Miller's ongoing efforts to promote its commitment to the advancement and success of people of color and women."
