MAPCO Stores See Stars

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- MAPCO Express convenience stores located in Rutherford County in the state are making wishes come true for local children, as area locations are selling magnetic wish stars to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee, the Murfreesboro Daily News Journal reported.

The metallic blue and silver magnetic Make-A-Wish stars sell for $1 to support the organization, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions, the report stated.

In addition, local radio station WRQQ 97.1 FM; local television station WSMV-TV; and Beaman Toyota are patterning with MAPCO for a contest for all customers, according to the report.

By listening to the radio station, customers learn where they can register for a chance to win a gas card from MAPCO. Then, the station's van will appear during the week at 25 different MAPCO stations between 5 and 6 p.m., from March 3 until April 15, where customers can win cards, according to the report.
