Mac's Upgrades Financial Network
LAVAL, Quebec -- Mac's Convenience Stores LLC., a subsidiary of Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., said it has purchased and installed 379 new frame-relay ATMs from Scottsdale, Ariz.-based eFunds Corp., a provider of outsourcing solutions.
The cash machines are intended to speed up consumer cash withdrawals at its chain of Dairy Mart, Bigfoot and Handy Andy Stores. The new ATMs will add to the existing 138 eFunds' Access Cash-branded terminals that have been in place in the Bigfoot line of stores since 1998, the company said.
One of the reasons Mac's selected eFunds was its ability to operate ATMs on the frame relay network, which allows for faster transactions. Traditionally, ATMs use dial-up connections for transaction processing, which can result in slower transactions and service interruptions for the customer. With this new ATM deployment, Mac's expects to see immediate savings in operating costs and IT efficiencies.

Mac's, the United States operating unit of Couche-Tard has over 500 convenience stores throughout the U.S. Brian Hannasch, Vice President of Midwest Operations based in Columbus, Indiana is dedicated to growing the business with an aggressive remodeling program, and offering a quality product for its customers.
