Love's to Open Six-Pack of New CNG Stations

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores will add six new compressed natural gas (CNG) stations throughout the state of Oklahoma, reported NewsOK.com.

The first grand-opening celebration will take place on Friday at Chickasha, Okla. It will be followed by celebration events on May 11 in Altus, Okla.; June 8 in Guthrie, Okla.; June 12 in Lawton, Okla.; July 13 in Oklahoma City; and July 13 in Norman, Okla.

As Kyla Turner, Love's communications manager, told CSNews Online earlier this year, the grand openings are part of a larger plan for the convenience store and gas station chain to open 10 CNG pumps at existing gas stations throughout 2012.

"We recognize the importance of expanding our fueling options to meet the diverse needs of our customers," Jenny Love Meyer, Love's vice president of communications, told NewsOK.com. "As more and more corporate and government entities convert their fleets to CNG, we believe demand on the commercial and consumer side will escalate accordingly."

Love's is not the only c-store chain beginning to offer CNG pumps. Kwik Trip Inc. is also getting involved, with a grand opening for its La Crosse, Wis., CNG and liquefied natural gas (LNG) pump taking place next week.
