Little General Store Reinforces West Virginia Presence

FAIRMONT, W.V. -- Little General Store Inc. added six new West Virginia convenience stores after taking them over from their previous owners, according to a Times West Virginian report. The stores are located in Farmington, White Hall, Clarksburg, the East Fairmont/Winfield area and two in Morgantown.

The transition of the stores, which began Dec. 1 and included changing the layouts and adding new signage, is now complete, said Director of Retail Brian Waugh. All employees and managers were retained.

Little General also added its On the Go daily fresh sandwich program and the ability to earn fuel discounts by using the Shop 'n Save Perks Reward Card.

The company has taken over or built 10 stores in the area since last February. Little General believes it can "offer everything to everybody" and wants to continue to invest in West Virginia, according to Waugh. It is continually investigating opportunities to purchase or build stores and reportedly tries to keep its options open.
