Kroger Hosting Second Nationwide Hiring Event This Year

CINCINNATI — The Kroger Co. will hold its second nationwide hiring event in 2016 on Tuesday, Aug. 9, with a round of open interviews at its stores. To make the online application process easier, Kroger launched "mobile apply," which lets job-seekers submit applications via their smartphones or tablet devices.

Interested candidates can apply at jobs.kroger.com and visit a Kroger store on Aug. 9 between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. No appointments are necessary.

"Our growth continues to create job openings across the country for friendly, hard-working associates to join our team, including many roles on our new ClickList teams," said Tim Massa, Kroger's group vice president of human resources and labor relations. "Our stores are filled with incredible opportunities to advance and a variety of career paths. If you love people and love food, Kroger just might be the place for you. Applying to work at our family of stores is easier than ever with open interviews and the ability to apply from anywhere."

Kroger held its first one-day nationwide hiring event this year on May 10, as CSNews Online previously reported. The event had the goal of filling approximately 14,000 permanent positions.

Cincinnati-based Kroger operates a total of 2,778 retail food stores under a variety of banner names in 35 states and the District of Columbia. This includes 786 convenience stores in 19 states under six banners: Kwik Shop, Loaf N' Jug, Quik Stop Markets, Tom Thumb Food Stores, Turkey Hill Minit Markets and Smith's Express.
