Kroger Fights Cancer

The Kroger Co., operator of approximately 800 convenience stores, said it would contribute $100,000 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to support continued research, education, screening and treatment for the second-leading cause of cancer death in women. The donation was made on behalf of the American Express "Charge for the Cure" campaign. "Kroger is proud to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation's continued fight against breast cancer," said Lynn Marmer, Kroger's group vice president of corporate affairs. "Campaigns such as 'Charge for the Cure' not only raise money for the battle against breast cancer, but also generate awareness about this deadly disease and the importance of early detection and screening."
