Kangaroo Joins Dairy Queen's Third Annual "Miracle Treat Day"

SILVER SPRING, Md. -- This year, Dairy Queen’s third annual Miracle Treat Day received support from Kangaroo. The c-store retailer donated proceeds from every Blizzard it sold on August 7 to a local member hospital of the Children’s Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children’s hospitals.

"Miracle Treat Day is a source of great pride for the Dairy Queen System," George Fougeron, president of Interstate Dairy Queen Corp., said in a released statement. "I’ve seen firsthand the great work done by CMN for children. It’s a good feeling to team up with the local community to be part of such a worthwhile effort."

The Sanford, N.C.-based Kangaroo currently operates 1,650 convenience stores throughout the southeastern United States, and is the franchisee of seven Dairy Queen locations.

Last year on Miracle Treat Day, participating Dairy Queens throughout the U.S. and Canada raised more than $4 million, with all proceeds staying in local communities.
