Green Zebra 'Speed Dates' Potential Vendors

PORTLAND, Ore. — Green Zebra Grocery is on the hunt for new vendors close to its hometown.

The retailer joined with Oregon State University's Food Innovation Center in a Vendor Speed Date event on Jan. 9 to meet new food growers and makers around Portland and the outlying region.

Green Zebra is looking for offerings to feature at its new store, which will open near Portland State University next month.

"Eating local isn't just for people in certain zip codes," said Green Zebra Founder and CEO Lisa Sedlar. "It's for everyone. And by supporting local food makers, we have an opportunity to work together to strengthen our local food economy."

Green Zebra Grocery is a Portland-based "healthy convenience" store chain that features fresh, local, organic and healthy food along with everyday groceries and house-made grab-and-go meal options. It currently operates two stores in Portland.
