Gilbarco, AJB to Show Canada's First EMV Pump Transactions

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Gilbarco Veeder-Root and AJB Software Design Inc. of Toronto will demonstrate Canada’s first EuroPay MasterCard Visa (EMV) transactions at the pump on March 10–11, at the National Energy Equipment (NEE) booth 309, Convenience U CARWACS Show at the Toronto Congress Centre, the company reported.

Gilbarco FlexPay EMV CRIND hardware and software from AJB enable the EMV compliant transactions, which reduce the opportunity for fraud, reduce charge-backs to retailers and provide finer control of “offline” credit card transaction approvals, the companies reported.

EMV CRINDs are required at new or rebuild sites by January 2011 and all Canadian fuel dispensers must be compliant by 2015.
