Gas Woes Spread to Southeast

OKLAHOMA CITY -- As gas stations in New York and New Jersey struggle to get back to normal, one company is warning that last week's superstorm is now impacting diesel fuel in the Southeast.

Last night, Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores informed customers of possible outages in a message posted on its website and its Facebook page. "In the aftermath of [Superstorm] Sandy, diesel supply in the southeastern U.S. is running low," the company said, adding that as a result, 11 stores in the region may experience intermittent fuel outages over the next 24 to 48 hours. 

Those locations are in Wytheville, Va.; Fancy Gap, Va.; Marion, N.C.; Blacksburg, S.C.; Fair Play, S.C.; Dillon, S.C.; Canton, Miss.; Dickson, Tenn.; Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Lee, Fla.; and  Cottondale, Fla.

"We are doing everything we can to deliver additional diesel to these locations, but please be aware we could be low or out of diesel at these travel stops this evening. We apologize for this inconvenience and will keep you updated on this situation," the company explained.
