MIAMI — The convenience drive-thru chain Farm Stores is partnering with SG Blocks, a designer, innovator and fabricator of container-based structures, for its franchising rollout. SG Blocks is designing an eco-friendly, 640-square-foot drive-thru store that will allow Farm Stores to undertake an aggressive new-store campaign.
"We are excited to be partnering with a national turnkey solution that has a great track record working with established well-known brands," said Farm Stores Chief Operating Officer Maurice Bared. "In addition to being sustainable, the SG modular and prefabricated system will facilitate faster store completion and lead to a quicker return on investment."
Farm Stores locations are a hybrid of a neighborhood grocery store, bakery and quick-service restaurant. The drive-thru retail concept lets busy consumers purchase groceries, snacks, household supplies and more without having to leave their cars.
Miami-based Farm Stores Corp. announced its plan to begin franchising for the first time earlier this year, as CSNews Online previously reported.
"We are thrilled to be working with the leader in drive-thru store chains," stated SG Blocks Chairman and CEO Paul Galvin. "These stores will be efficiently designed as fully modular, prefabricated units to aid franchisees in rapid site activation, helping them more easily establish Farm Stores locations in new neighborhoods."
SG Blocks is an innovator in advancing and promoting the use of code-engineered cargo shipping containers for safe and sustainable construction, according to the company.
Farm Stores currently operates 70 locations throughout Florida.
