ExxonMobil Supports Dallas Troupe

HOUSTON -- The ExxonMobil Foundation has contributed $100,000 as the first corporate grant to support Dallas Black Dance Theatre's 2002 Capital Campaign.

Funds from the Dance Theatre's $10-million campaign will be used to renovate the 32,000-square-foot facility in Dallas. The facility will be updated to include rehearsal halls, dressing rooms, workshop areas, education facilities, offices and storage areas. The funds raised also will ensure that the property is acquired debt-free and will build long-term operating revenue.

"Dallas Black Dance Theatre's talented artists and its educational programs have benefited our community tremendously," said Arleen Lawson, executive director of the ExxonMobil Foundation. "ExxonMobil has a long history of supporting this organization and the exceptional programs it provides to the city of Dallas, and we are proud to continue our support through this campaign."

Including the 2002 Capital Campaign grant, ExxonMobil has contributed more than $392,000 to the Dallas Black Dance Theatre since 1978. Previous grants have supported general programs, summer youth enrichment programs and other special projects.
