EnMex Sues Tesoro for $2B

LOS ANGELES -- Energy company Enmex Corp., based here, filed a $2 billion counter suit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Tesoro Corp. recently, charging the refiner and petroleum marketer of breach of contract, tortious interference with contractual relations, misrepresentation, defamation and other claims, EnMex stated.

EnMex claims Tesoro breached a security agreement between the parties and four fuel transportation agreements. The suit also alleges Tesoro intentionally interfered with EnMex's existing and prospective business relationships, made misrepresentations and engaged in other unlawful conduct, as part of a scheme to damage Enmex's business.

In addition, EnMex stated it consistently paid Tesoro millions of dollars monthly for petroleum products purchased before the security agreement was breached and all of its obligations under the fuel transportation contracts were fulfilled.
