Dallas Residents Getting More Than Gas at the Pump

DALLAS -- A pit stop for gas might take longer in the Dallas/Forth Worth market as 65 stations are now equipped with AdtekMedia, Inc.'s PumpTop TV.

"Gas consumers love us. Given a choice of watching great TV programming or the gas pump meter tick away, it's no contest," Roy Reeves, PumpTop TV vice president of sales and marketing said in a released statement. "We bring some fun to the pump."

Three Fort Worth Valero stations were injected with "fun" this week as TV installations at its pumps were completed. PumpTop TV is a network of LCD screens mounted at eye level on gas pumps at various gas station brands. Programming includes news feeds from ABC, real-time traffic maps, along with weather, sports, business, health and entertainment news.

A limited number of advertisements from national, regional and even local companies are interspersed within PumpTop TV's programming network which consists of approximately 5,000 screens found at most major gas station brands in the Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego and Phoenix. The Houston, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta and Florida markets are slated for later this year, explained Reeves.

"We all know how difficult it is to effectively reach today's highly mobile consumers," Paul Schmidt, PumpTop TV national sales manager said in a released statement. "We engage people with a sight, sound and motion experience while they're 'on-the-go,' which marketers appreciate."
