Cumberland Farms Relocates, Renovates & Expands HQ

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — Cumberland Farms Inc. is beginning to feel more at home in its Westborough digs.

The convenience store retailer has officially completed a $15-million renovation and expansion project that includes adding its headquarters staff, reported Worcester Business Journal Online. Its former headquarters operated alongside its distribution center in Framingham, Mass.

With all its operations now based at the Westborough site, the workforce there has risen from 313 to 600 employees.

The new headquarters, located at the intersection of the Massachusetts Turnpike and Interstate 495, spans 13 acres and features a 28,000-square-foot freezer, and culinary and refrigeration centers. It also has a new facade facing Flanders Road.

Cumberland Farms will have a ceremony marking completion of the project on March 11. Operations were up and running by Jan. 1.

The latest expansion follows a $20-million renovation at the facility in 2014, the news outlet reported.

Cumberland Farms operates more than 600 convenience stores across eight states.
