CITGO Rolls Out New Custom-Blended Fuel

HOUSTON -- CITGO Petroleum Corp. introduced its custom-blend TriCLEAN gasoline, which is made with more nitrogen cleaning agents than its predecessors, to help keep vital engine parts cleaner.

"Consumers have always been able to trust CITGO gasoline in their tanks," said Gustavo Velásquez, vice president of supply and marketing at CITGO. "These recent enhancements to our fuel contribute to both better gas mileage and lower emissions, which we know are very important to our customers. We designed TriCLEAN gasoline with that in mind."

In formulating TriCLEAN, CITGO conducted engine tests with multiple sources of its gasoline to determine optimal engine cleanliness and response to detergent additives.

All grades of TriCLEAN gasoline contain more cleaning agents than ever before, the company noted. These cleaners provide customers with a smoother running engine that maximizes mileage and minimizes emissions.

"We are committed to offering reliable, quality fuels that are guaranteed to meet automobile performance needs," noted Velásquez. "With TriCLEAN, we take that promise even further because we know how much people depend on their cars to get where they need to go."

Houston-based CITGO Petroleum Corp. is a refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and other industrial products.

The company is owned by PDV America Inc., an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
