Circle K Unveils ZapLink in Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Selected Circle K stores in Tucson now offer a complete array of new electronic services through ZapLink SM public access kiosks, which allow customers to pay bills, conduct financial services and even surf the Internet.

This company's new technology, which rolled out in 23 Circle K convenience stores in Tucson, offers high-speed Internet access to customers who may not have access from their homes or offices, or to those who have a need for last minute services.

ZapLink kiosks are user friendly via their touchscreen technology and available in English and Spanish, said Doug Hecker, retail marketing manager for Circle K. Services include:
* High-speed Internet and e-mail access
* Bill payment with Cricket Wireless
* Pay Day Loans
* Maps and directions
* Print in-store coupons
* Purchase prepaid long distance and cellular phones
* Local news and information

"We are excited to offer our customers access to the latest technologies," Hecker said. "Customers have responded positively to ZapLink in the markets we have tested and we think Tucson customers will have the same reaction."

With the exception of Internet access, video postcards and Speak Your Mind chat room, all services are free. Users can log on to the Internet for 19 cents per minute and pay with cash or credit cards directly at the kiosk. There is no need for interaction between the ZapLink user and the Circle K customer service representative -- unless customers need assistance. Future ZapLink services offered at Circle K could include bill payment to utility companies and entertainment and sporting event ticket purchases.
