Chevron to Open New Office

The building, slated to be occupied in November, will initially house marketing employees.

LATHROP, Calif. – Major energy firm Chevron Corp., based in San Ramon, plans to occupy a new, 24,000-square-foot building in the Mossdale Landing Business Park here, as a "resumption center" -- a building that is considered an emergency backup office, TheRecordnet.com reported.

Initial plans call for no more than 10 corporate marketing employees already working in the area to relocate to the site in November. The resumption center will also house up to 200 computer workstations in the event Chevron’s main offices become unusable because of a disaster, Charlie Mullen, Lathrop’s assistant community development director, told the Web site.

Construction of the $6 million to $8 million facility is being developed by TCN Properties Inc. and is expected to begin soon.
