BP's ampm Gears Up for Major League Baseball Promotion

LA PALMA, Calif. -- BP's ampm convenience store chain is stepping up to the plate for baseball season, giving its customers and fans of Major League Baseball's Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Indians a chance to win prizes, play games and fill up on concessions at the teams' home games.

The 2009 baseball season will mark the introduction of the ampm "All You Can Eat" seats at the Pittsburgh PNC Park, which begins April 13. Fans seated in the ampm-sponsored section—Section 147 in the Outfield Reserved section of the park—will have access to unlimited hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, salads, popcorn, peanuts, ice cream and soda, the company stated.

"BP's ampm brand is fun and indulgent," Andrew Baird, BP’s vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "What better way to showcase that than baseball? It’s a great pastime and our presence at PNC Park celebrates what we bring to the game, too much good stuff."

Roughly 250 seats are available at every home game in 2009, and ticket holders for that section will have dedicated ampm "All You Can Eat" concession stands on the Riverwalk, a promenade between center field and the Allegheny River.

Fans can purchase the tickets three ways: Fans can buy tickets for the ampm "All You Can Eat" seats at PNC Park in three ways—through the Pittsburgh Pirates' Web site; by calling (800) BUY-BUCS; or at the box office on the day of the game.
Meanwhile, ampm is also sponsoring an "All You Can Eat" concession section for the 2009 baseball season at the Cleveland Indians' Progressive Field, which begins April 10. Approximately 400 fans each game seated in the ampm-sponsored section—located in the upper deck along the first base line—will have access to unlimited hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts, nachos and soda.

"Our presence at Cleveland Indians games merges the ampm brand values of fun and indulgence with our target consumers’ love of baseball," Andrew Baird, BP’s vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "This sponsorship celebrates what we bring to the game—too much good stuff."

As part of the 2009 sponsorship ampm ampm will team up with the ball club for other promotions, including a June giveaway of 30,000 Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn bobblehead dolls, the company stated. Fans will also have a chance to win tickets and other prizes with a game called "Too Much Good Stuff Fan of the Game."

In addition, Indians fans will be able to play the ampm Ballpark Big Shot Sweepstakes, which includes 11 weekly drawings for prizes such as $50 gift cards, and also offers one finale week when fans can win grand prizes such as playoff tickets, the company stated.

Progressive Field’s ampm "All You Can Eat" seats can be purchased in three ways: through the Cleveland Indians Web site; at the ballpark; and by calling (216) 240-HITS.
BP's ampm debuted the all you can eat section concept two years ago with the Los Angeles Dodgers, at Dodger Stadium. It was the first permanent, all-inclusive seating area for Major League Baseball.
