BP to Sell 36 Locations in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS -- BP put 29 BP-branded convenience stores and gas stations in the Indianapolis area on the auction block, in addition to seven other de-branded gas stations and commercial sites, in accordance to its third phase of its "East of the Rockies" franchise expansion plan, according to NRC Realty Advisors, LLC, the real estate company selected to coordinate the transactions.

"Our goal is to build and recruit a franchise network East of Rockies that complements our already distinctive BP brand," said Ben Amante, BP's vice president of franchising in the U.S. "We are offering franchise buyers the rare opportunity to purchase a franchise with real estate rights. We also see an opportunity to reflect the diverse communities where we operate by finding minority business people looking to franchise in the community. We look forward to building a strong network of franchisees who will help us grow our business and deliver our products and services to more consumers."

The 29 sites the company plans to sell include BP branded "Connect" convenience stores and gas stations, including buildings, fixtures and property. The sites, which will be sold as franchises, add to the company's network of franchised sites in the U.S. which began in Southern Florida and Chicago.

The sites are being sold in a sealed bid format, and interested parties must submit bids no later than Feb. 8. Additional information can be obtained through NRC's Web site www.nrc.com/701 or by calling (800) 747-3342, ext. 701.
