Atlas Oil Hires Drivers from Troops 2 Truckers Marine Program

TAYLOR, Mich. -- Atlas Oil began hiring drivers from a military-to-civilian vocational program Troops 2 Truckers, for active duty service members, the company reported. The program provides transportation, logistics training and credentialing, and was designed to improve employment opportunities for members following their military service.

"At Atlas, we pride ourselves on hiring and retaining the best drivers in the business," Sam Simon, CEO of Atlas Oil said in a released statement. "As a company, we also have great respect for our military and are happy to help them in their transition into civilian life."

Atlas hired two drivers through the Troops 2 Truckers program thus far and has found the program to be an excellent source of qualified applicants for its driver positions.

"Troops 2 Truckers is a great program for everyone involved," Doug Sartain, vice president, Atlas transportation said in a released statement. "We get well trained individuals who are not only CDL and hazmat certified, but they are also safety minded, disciplined and tested in tough conditions."
