Aloha Petroleum Hosts Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono

HONOLULU — Aloha Petroleum Ltd. hosted Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) at its Aloha Island Mart Kahala store from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19. The event was held in partnership with NACS, the Association for Convenience & Fuel Retailing, as part of its NACS In Store program.

To date, more than 30 NACS In Store events have taken place and allowed members of Congress to experience firsthand the community experience that happens at their local convenience stores.

"Hawaii's convenience stores make important contributions to our state by creating jobs, supporting our tourism industry, and providing an array of services to Hawaii families," said Hirono. "This store visit will give me a firsthand look at day-to-day operations as we look at helping consumers find healthier meal options on the go."

Hirono had the chance to work behind the counter and interact with members of the local community, discussing issues important to them.

"We're honored to host Sen. Hirono at our Aloha Island Mart in Kahala and look forward to her interacting with employees and customers and experiencing firsthand the wide range of products and services that convenience stores provide the public," stated Aloha Petroleum President and CEO Richard Parry.

"We're especially excited about showcasing our healthy choices; as of last year, we became the first retail business in Hawaii to adopt the Department of Health's Choose Healthy Now project," Parry continued. "Now, in addition to standard convenience store fare, our customers can enjoy fresh salads, whole fruit, fruit salads, yogurt and other high-performance foods and drinks."

Aloha Petroleum, a subsidiary of Sunoco LP, has approximately 100 Shell, Aloha and Mahalo branded fueling stations, plus 46 Aloha Island Marts, four Menehune Food Marts and two Subway locations throughout Hawaii.
