AAFES Named Diversity Leader by LATINA Style

DALLAS – The Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) received an honorable mention in the LATINA Style Magazine 50 Awards, which is a recognition program that evaluates corporate America’s career development opportunities for Hispanic women.

Karen Stack, senior vice president of AAFES' western region, will accept the award on behalf of the company at an awards ceremony in Washington D.C. on Feb. 5.

"AAFES is proud to be recognized as a diversity leader as it mirrors the military members it serves," stated AAFES Director of Diversity Jeanne McDonald. "The LATINA Style award further validates AAFES’ importance placed on diversity in the workforce."

More than 800 U.S. corporations were evaluated based on issues LATINA Style readers identified as most important to them in the workplace. Among those issues were: number of Latina executives; mentoring programs; Latina board members; educational opportunities; alternative work policies; dependent/child care support; employee benefits; women’s issues; job retraining; affinity groups and Hispanic relations.
