7-Eleven Selected Alliance Data for Payment Processing

DALLAS -- Convenience chain operator 7-Eleven Inc. signed a multiyear agreement with loyalty and marketing solutions company, Alliance Data Systems Corp., to provide payment-processing services to more than 5,500 7-Eleven convenience stores nationwide, Alliance Data stated.

"We expect this partnership with Alliance Data will provide our stores with more efficient processing capabilities," Robbie Radant, 7-Eleven's director of payment acceptance, said in a statement. "Since our inception in 1927, 7-Eleven has sought to bring innovation and superior customer service to our customers. Alliance Data's payment processing solution will help ensure that transactions are processed quickly and reliably, which ultimately further enhances the shopping experience for our customers."

As part of the agreement, Alliance Data will provide the convenience retailer services including authorization and settlement for debit- and credit-card transactions, as well as prepaid card services.

"7-Eleven is widely recognized for its industry leadership and customer-centric approach to providing the right products, convenience and fast service for its customers," Denise McCauley, senior vice president of Alliance Data Network Services, said in a statement. "We are pleased to have the opportunity to provide payment solutions for 7-Eleven as well as support its focus on innovation now and into the future."

In other 7-Eleven news, the company completed the rollout of a data solution from Radiant Communications Corp. in its Canadian stores in less than a year, Radiant stated.

Radiant provides broadband solutions, and with the solution, 7-Eleven stores across Canada will use Radiant’s fully-managed VPN to process point of sale (POS) transactions faster than previously possible, the company stated.

"7-Eleven is one of the many customers that benefit from having a unified solution and a single provider for all their locations," David Buffet, president and CEO of Radiant, said in a statement. "We are thrilled to be partnering with 7-Eleven and helping them to provide their customers with robust and fast service solutions."

In addition, the solution also enables other 7-Eleven applications -- such as prepaid and specialty cards -- to utilize the same network in a secure and separate environment, according to the company.

Using the technology, 7-Eleven can rely on end-to-end security, always-on-service and 24/7 technical support, the company stated.
