7-Eleven Implements Visa ReadyLink in U.S. Stores

SAN FRANCISCO -- 7-Eleven Inc. and Visa USA unveiled an agreement that will place Visa ReadyLink, a prepaid load network, in U.S. 7-Eleven convenience stores. The ReadyLink service allows consumers to add funds to eligible Visa reloadable prepaid cards inside nearly 5,350 7-Eleven operated and franchised locations in the U.S.

"Visa's agreement with 7-Eleven significantly extends the national footprint of Visa ReadyLink, which means greater access, value and convenience for cardholders who desire a better alternative to cash and checks," said Todd Brockman, senior vice president, prepaid products, Visa USA. "Visa ReadyLink offers a critical infrastructure to respond to a direct need in the marketplace, while enabling merchant partners and member financial institutions to maximize the potential of prepaid products."

As part of the agreement, 7-Eleven will work with its Visa financial institution to implement the service. Visa ReadyLink will allow 7-Eleven to access the underserved segment of its customers -- approximately 80 million in the U.S. by Visa estimates.

"Customers rely on 7-Eleven to fill their daily convenience needs, and our stores have a reputation for speedy transactions and leading-edge prepaid services such as Visa ReadyLink," said Robbie Radant, 7-Eleven's director of payment acceptance. "The ability to load funds onto Visa reloadable prepaid cards at any of our stores makes 7-Eleven even more relevant to our customers' daily life."

Cardholders will be able to load funds onto Visa reloadable prepaid cards at 7-Eleven stores later this year.
