Pemmican Beef Jerky Donates to Fight Hunger

TAYLOR, Mich. -- Marfood USA Inc. donated more than $50,000 of its Pemmican Beef Jerky to Safari Club International Foundation's Sportsmen Against Hunger program, the company announced.

On April 1, the company kicked off its new Pemmican Trail Campaign by giving away a free bag of beef jerky to customers every 20.11 seconds. For every bag customers won, Marfood also donated two bags of Pemmican Beef Jerky to Sportsmen Against Hunger, said the company.

"The Pemmican Trail is all about each individual's efforts to Make Things Better™," said Nakia Watkins, marketing manager for Marfood USA. "We like the fact that we've turned April Fool's Day into a day to show we mean business about making things better and helping those in need."

"We truly appreciate this thoughtful and generous donation of beef jerky," said Joseph Hosmer, president of Safari Club International Foundation. "Protein is very difficult and expensive to find during tough economic times so this donation will go a long way to provide sustenance for many families."

Safari Club International Foundation has served tens of millions of meals at soup kitchens, food banks and other charitable organizations since its founding in 1989, according to the foundation. More information is available at www.safariclubfoundation.org
