Kum & Go Partners With Habitat for Humanity for Fourth Year

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — For the fourth consecutive year, Kum & Go LC is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity to sponsor and build homes.

Throughout April, Kum & Go has pledged its support for Habitat for Humanity's Home is the Key national campaign with a corporate donation and in-store fundraising. Through their donations, the convenience store retailer's customers will help select a community in which the company will sponsor the construction of a new Habitat for Humanity home.

Now through April 30, Kum & Go customers can contribute by:

  • Adding $1 or more to in-store purchases to donate to Habitat for Humanity;
  • Donating spare change to countertop donation box “houses”; and
  • Purchasing Kum & Go water, with 10 cents per bottle going to to Habitat for Humanity.

Additionally, Kum & Go will distribute several grants to local Habitat for Humanity organizations. Grants will be based on which Kum & Go service areas raise the most money through customer traffic.

Since 2014, Kum & Go has donated more than $1.5 million to support Habitat for Humanity. The company has also pledged to give man hours to the organization. More than 200 Kum & Go associates have volunteered to build alongside future homeowners in locations where the company operates. Three Kum & Go-sponsored Habitat for Humanity homes have been built in Sioux Falls, S.D.; Minot, N.D.; and Story City, Iowa.

Kum & Go's support for Habitat for Humanity's Home is the Key initiative includes a corporate cash donation and a customer fundraising component. The company's support is currently Habitat for Humanity's only partnership with a convenience store retailer, according to Kum & Go.
