Hess Donates $1M to Flood Relief

NEW YORK -- Hess Corp. has donated $1 million to assist with North Dakota flood relief, the company and Gov. Jack Dalrymple announced, according to a Bismarck Tribune report.

Hess stated that the donation consists of $750,000 to the Minot Area Community Foundation and $250,000 to the North Dakota Community Foundation. Both foundations are raising money to directly benefit victims of recent floods in the state. Hess also set up a matching gift program for any of its employees who donate to those organizations or to the American Red Cross' Mid-Dakota Chapter.

Maj. Gen. Murray Sagsveen is coordinating statewide flood recovery efforts, according to the governor's office. He plans to work with local, state and federal officials to help North Dakota communities recover from the flooding and develop flood protection measures for the future.
