Handee Marts Presents Grant to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation

PITTSBURGH -- Handee Marts presented a $6,500 grant to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation at the convenience store chain's annual meeting and trade show dinner, the company announced. President and CEO Mike Triantafellou presented the check to Foundation President Greg Barrett.

BP funded the grant as part of its Fueling Communities program, which provides grants to organizations that support the communities in which they operate. Organizations are nominated by BP-branded marketers. Handee Marts immediately nominated the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, according to the announcement. Over the years, the retailer has supported its Free Care Fund with contributions totaling close to $600,000.

Several awards also were given out at the event. Todd and Liz Umstott won Franchisee of the Year, while the President's award went to both Marcia Foertsch, a Handee Marts field consultant, and vendor Mike Cotherman of McLane Co., for outstanding contributions in building value through partnerships.
