Alon Quadruples Reduced Emissions Fuel Footprint

ODESSA and MIDLAND, Texas — Alon Brands Inc. expanded its relationship with GreenPrint LLC to offer the Strive reduced emissions fuel program at all 52 of its 7-Eleven stores in Midland and Odessa starting July 15. Alon has now quadrupled its Strive footprint since first beginning the program last year.

Under the Strive program, for every gallon of fuel purchased, Alon plants trees locally and invests in certified carbon reduction projects, such as reforestation and alternative energy production. According to Atlanta-based GreenPrint, these efforts neutralize each driver’s associated carbon emissions by up to 30 percent.

“We are excited to bring this program to our backyard. With how much support the Odessa and Midland communities give us, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our product and give back to them. The Strive program has already allowed us to plant over 5,000 trees in Texas and New Mexico, and we look forward to continue growing that number,” said Jonathan Ketchum, senior vice president of retail at Alon Brands. “We couldn’t be happier with how much support and love our customers have shown the Strive program to date.”

As CSNews Online previously reported, Alon initially offered the Strive program in June 2015 at 23 Albuquerque, N.M., locations. In November, 14 more Albuquerque locations offered the program, and in March, Strive was expanded into Lubbock, Texas.

In all, Alon now offers Strive at more than 100 gas stations in New Mexico and Texas.

Dallas-based Alon Brands Inc. is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in North America. It also markets ALON motor fuel products to more than 800 gas station locations.
