United Supermarkets Springs Into Fuel Discount Program

LUBBOCK, Texas -- United Supermarkets has started offering fuel discounts based on in-store purchases to help customers deal with rising pump prices this Spring.

Between March 28 and May 22, customers who shop at the retailer's United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos locations will earn discounts on their fuel purchases at all United Express gas stations in Lubbock, Amarillo and Wichita Falls, Texas, according to a company announcement.

"United is dedicated to providing added value and convenience for our guests," said Wes Jackson, chief merchandising officer for United Supermarkets LLC. "We hope this promotion will make it easy for guests to save at the pump simply by doing their routine grocery shopping."

Customers will receive a fuel voucher discount code on their receipts when they check out in the store, with the discount tied to the amount spent. For example, a customer who spends $49 to $69.99 in the store will earn a 5-cent discount per gallon; $70 to $99.99 will earn a 10-cent discount; $100 to $149.99 will earn a 15-cent discount; and $150 or more will earn a 20-cent discount.

Tobacco, gift card and fuel purchases will not earn fuel discounts.

The fuel discount may be redeemed at any Texas United Express gas station by entering the discount code at the pump or presenting the fuel voucher discount code to the station attendant prior to payment. The discount code is valid for 14 days from the date on the receipt and is redeemable on up to 25 gallons of fuel, the company said.
