TravelCenters of America Gets Exclusive Access to New Products

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America LLC is adding to its product line for professional drivers with new items that will be sold exclusively at TA- and Petro Stopping Centers-branded travel centers.

The products include a large-scale Rand McNally Road Atlas, Magellan RoadMate Commercial GPS, and Cobra GPS/CB radio bundle pack, all of which will assist drivers with route mapping and directions. All three products will be available at participating TA and Petro travel store locations in early September, according to the company.

The new products will be on display at the TA/Petro booth at the Great American Trucking Show, Dallas Convention Center, Dallas, Texas, on Aug. 23-25. Drivers stopping by the both can also enter a drawing to win the products.

The Rand McNally large-scale motor carriers' atlas was discontinued in 2009, and by driver request, TravelCenters worked with Rand McNally to put it back into production. The laminated pages are one-third larger than regular motor carriers' atlas maps, and include restricted routes, low clearances, weigh stations, and more than 40,000 city-to-city mileages, the company explained.

Developed in cooperation with TravelCenters, the Magellan RoadMate Commercial 7-inch GPS offers TA and Petro points of interest buttons, multi-destination routing, free lifetime traffic alerts and map updates, and customizable truck routes.

The Cobra 5825LX Bundle Pack provides professional drivers an exclusive deal with the 5850 Pro GPS and the Special Edition 25 LX CB radio in one box. The GPS unit offers an hour log and state mileage log to track time and distance driven. It also provides drivers with distance to the nearest travel center, rest area, weigh station and mile marker. The CB has a full color LCD digital frequency display and one-touch channel scanning.

"I'm excited to introduce these products to drivers and be the exclusive provider for them," said Thomas O'Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters. "Partnering with Rand McNally to bring the atlas back, and working with Magellan to build a customized GPS are further testament to our dedication to providing the best service to our customers. If our customers ask us for something, we like to deliver."
