GoPuff C-store Delivery Service Hits 15 Markets

PHILADELPHA — On-demand delivery service startup goPuff continues to spread its service across the country, reaching its 15th major U.S. city with the addition of Columbus, Ohio.

The 24-hour online delivery service now has operations in: Philadelphia; Boston; Washington, D.C.; Austin, Texas; New York; Denver; Phoenix; Seattle; Chicago; Portland, Ore.; Manayunk, Pa.; Tucson, Ariz.; State College, Pa.; Pittsburgh; and Columbus, Ohio.

Rafael Ilishayev and Yakir Gola launched goPuff in 2013 and initially delivered only 50 basic products before expanding the company to a full, on-demand convenience store delivery service in 2014, CSNews Online previously reported. Its primary customer base is targeted at millennials.

GoPuff’s on-demand service delivers more than 3,000 products, ranging from college essentials, party supplies and smoking accessories to snacks, frozen foods and household essentials at normal c-store prices. The company also offers on-demand alcohol delivery in some markets, according to Columbus Business First.

The company charges a flat delivery fee of $1.95, with orders of $49 or more qualify for free shipping. Orders are guaranteed delivery in 30 minutes or less.

"What makes goPuff unique from other delivery services is that it has local warehouses in every city, stocked with inventory, allowing the company to control the experience and bring products directly to the customer. This means faster and more cost-efficient delivery as goPuff does not depend on other stores to operate," the company said.

Among its customers are Snoop Dog and Philadelphia 76ers players, according to goPuff. It closed an $8.25-million funding round in 2016.

Consumers can download the goPuff app on iOS and Android mobile devices.

"Our goal is to eliminate the convenience store," Gola said in June. "There is no need for them."
