BRIDGETON, Mo. -- Hussmann Corp. hosted a grand-opening celebration Thursday for its Global Hub at its headquarters here. Hussmann is a manufacturer of refrigerated display merchandisers and refrigeration systems for food retailers, including convenience stores.
The new 5,600-square-foot Global Hub and Retail Innovation Center contains 13 interactive, computer-based and physical venues to help retailers enhance sales and operations, according to Hussmann.
"This new Global Hub is an industry first," said Dennis Gipson, Hussmann's CEO. "There is no other company that can bring together more than 100 years of knowledge and experience into a hands-on, high tech space with the goal of providing game-changing solutions for our customers."
Food retailers, industry trade professionals and suppliers attended last week's grand opening. They took part in several projects, including selecting topics from Hussmann's "Video Magazine" to learn more about industry news and trends; witnessed futuristic displays, point-of-sale approaches and new equipment and technologies; and took a virtual tour of retail outlets around the world.
"The design strategy behind the Global Hub was to create an environment where we could bring food retailers, industry trend setters and thought leaders together in an open, collaborative space to talk about issues, challenges and opportunities," said Mike Higgins, senior vice president, marketing, strategic planning and business development for Hussmann. "Our goal is to build long lasting partnerships with food retailers, enabling them to build strong, successful businesses for today and in the future."
