High's of Baltimore Makes Leadership Changes

HANOVER, Md. -- High's of Baltimore Inc. promoted four management-level executives to aid the achievement of organizational goals and objectives within the convenience store chain. The four individuals have 75 years combined experience working for High's of Baltimore, the company reported.

"The challenges that our whole industry have faced over the last two years has made us a stronger operator and taught us what it's going to take to continue to be successful in the future," said Brian Darnell, executive vice president and CFO for High's of Baltimore Inc. "The changes forthcoming are a reflection of our belief that the first step is to identify how the strengths of our team members can be of greatest benefit to our organization."

Pat Kelly was promoted to co-director of sales and marketing, with new responsibilities including oversight of marketing, merchandising, purchasing and advertising. She began her career with High's in 1981 as a retail sales associate, and worked her way through the ranks as a store manager, area supervisor, district manager, and most recently retail operations manager.

"Pat's dedication and hard work over the past 29 years will serve her well in her new position that is so critical to our continued success," Darnell said.

Benjamin Jatlow was promoted to director of business development, where he will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for revenue growth and the achievement of specific financial goals. Jatlow will also focus on increasing brand awareness, cultivating customer relationships and fostering employee development. He began his career with High's upon graduating from the College of Charleston (Charleston, S.C.) in 2006. As the director of information technology he orchestrated a complete point-of-sale and back office implementation at both corporate and store levels.

"Ben's experience, demeanor, and drive are exactly the traits required to be successful in this new position," said Darnell.

Kevin Greene was promoted to retail operations manager, with responsibilities including oversight of all 70 retail stores as well as the 12 individuals that make up the district and area management ranks. He began his career with High's in 1982 as a retail sales associate, and has since worked as an inventory auditor, store manager, area supervisor and most recently district manager.

"We're excited to see how Kevin's 27 years of experience will benefit our company," Darnell said.

Finally, Carla Lee was promoted to district manager where she will be responsible for 33 stores in four areas. She started her career with High's in 1995 as a store manager before being promoted to area supervisor and district manager.

"Carla has been a trouble shooter for us and achieved visible results in each area that she has worked," said Darnell.
