Gulf Oil Relocates Headquarters

NEWTON, Mass.-- Gulf Oil announced yesterday that it has moved its corporate headquarters to Newton, Mass., from Chelsea, Mass., effective immediately.

The Newton location -- 11 miles from the former headquarters -- was selected to minimize any disruption for Gulf's current employees, while allowing the company to develop both a high-tech, state-of-the-art office, as well as additional space for Gulf's growing activities.

"The move to 1 Newton Place, at 275 Washington St. in Newton, keeps our offices in Massachusetts and places us in the middle of a vibrant community with excellent amenities that will allow Gulf to continue to attract and retain the very best professionals necessary to grow the company," noted Gulf CEO Joe Petrowski.

"The new offices allow us to both equip and design a work setting that maximizes our ability to react quickly to a customer's needs and market conditions, both of which are key to our continued success. We are proud of our Northeast base, our Boston home, and believe this move serves our mission, our customers, and our employees best."

Gulf Oil Limited Partnership is one of the Northeast's largest wholesalers of refined petroleum products. Gulf distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,400 Gulf-branded gas stations, 12 proprietary oil terminals, and a network of more than 50 other supply terminals. Gulf Oil supplies heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel and kerosene to these branded retail outlets through both its Gulf brand and, in the seven states of New England and New York, the Exxon brand.
