Government Signs on Valero, BP
WASHINGTON -- The Pentagon awarded million-dollar contracts to both Valero Energy Corp. and BP Plc to supply fuel to government divisions, The Associated Press reported.
A $26.4 million contract was given to Valero's Marketing & Supply Co. to fuel the Defense Energy Support Center. Valero is expected to complete the work by Aug. 30.
Meanwhile, a $30.2 million deal was given to BP West Coast Products LLC, based in La Palma, Calif. BP is expected to complete the work by Oct. 30, the report stated.
