Go Mart Agrees to Pay $12,000 DEP Fine

PUTNAM COUNTY, W. Va. -- State regulators have hit a company with a string of regional convenience stores and gas stations with a $12,000 fine for wastewater violations at a truck stop and fueling station in the county.

Go Mart Inc., headquartered in Gassaway, W. Va., has agreed to pay the fine in a consent order with the state Department of Environmental Protection, according to the Associated Press. The news outlet also reported the Go Mart will submit a proposed plant to correct the problems.

According to the consent order, the truck stop violated its water pollution control permit four times between January 2008 and March 2010. DEP inspectors found that storm water on the property wasn’t going to an oil-water separator.
