Gilbarco Offers Free Training, Help Desk at NACStech
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Gilbarco Veeder-Root will host free Passport point-of-sale (POS) system training and demonstrations of remote diagnostics and help desk services at NACStech, being held May 5-7, in New Orleans.
Current Passport users can attend the free Passport training: "How to operate Passport in a PA-DSS compliant world," from 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, May 5, at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel, Magnolia Conference Room. The session will review the new Passport V8.02 feature/function set and best practices for using the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) validated POS system within a PCI compliant retail operation, the company stated. Attendees also will learn features included in the V8.02/8.03 upgrade kits and accompanying documentation.
Passport's PA-DSS architecture provides benefits to convenience store retailers including complete segregation of all PA-DSS software modules into a single device, the Enhanced Dispenser Hub, which mitigates the impact of future PCI changes and simplifies development of future value-added POS features, the company stated.
In addition, Gilbarco Veeder-Root will showcase its Passport Help Desk at NACStech, in efforts to demonstrate the remote diagnostics, repair and update features of the POS system, which enable Gilbarco's 24/7/365 Help Desk to support the retail site, usually without an on-site service call, and automate the process of updating software remotely, saving the retailer time and money, the company stated.
The Help Desk will be located in Gilbarco Veeder-Root's booth No. 821 at NACStech, in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, May 6-7.
The exhibition will also feature:
-- Gilbarco Encore S fuel dispensers with Applause Media System,
-- FlexPay Encrypting PIN Pad retrofits for Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance, and
-- The Wisdom Intelligent Device Management system for remotely controlling coolers, lights, heating/air conditioning and overall energy consumption at one or more stores.
