EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is aiming to simplify green purchasing decisions by offering eco-friendly products at budget prices to its customers, according to report by The Wall Street Journal.
Rechargeable batteries, reusable plates and cutlery, and energy-efficient light bulbs are offered so customers do not need to compromise on the products they purchase at the company’s stores, the report stated.
In fact, Fresh & Easy carries only energy-efficient light bulbs in its stores, and introduced several new affordable canvas bag options, including a $1.99 canvas wine bag and a 100 percent unbleached cotton canvas grocery bag for 99 cents, according to The Wall Street Journal report.
"Our customers care about the purchasing decisions they are making in our stores," said Simon Uwins, Fresh & Easy chief marketing officer. "We want to help our customers make eco-friendly decisions by making these products more accessible while offering them at budget prices."
Additionally, every Fresh & Easy stores offers customer recycling for plastic bags, plastic bottles, aluminum cans and glass, and each store recycles or reuses all its display and shipping materials, the report stated.
