    Foodservice Brokers, Advantage Sales and Marketing Form New Company

    Advantage Waypoint will be run as an independent company and begin operations on Jan. 1.

    TAMPA, Fla. -- A consortium of U.S. foodservice brokers have teamed up with Advantage Sales and Marketing LLC to form a new company, Advantage Waypoint LLC, which will begin business operations on Jan. 1.

    The foodservice companies involved in the deal are: Innovative Concept Group, Dougherty Brokerage Co., Apex Foodservice Group, Benchmark Sales, FSI Southwest, Midwest Venture Partners, Food Sales West, Mascari & Associates and Inter-Mark Sales. Advantage Sales and Marketing is a consumer packaged goods brokerage company.

    According to today's announcement, Advantage Waypoint is being formed to "strategically align with the evolving foodservice industry and better position the leading brokers and their principal clients to successfully adapt to the foodservice industry."

    The current management of all the companies will remain involved in the day-to-day operations of the newly formed organization, which will be run as an independent company. The transition to this new company will not affect the level of service or support that clients currently receive, according to the announcement.
