Farm Stores Brings C-Store Shopping Online

MIAMI -- One convenience store operator is making shopping more convenient. The Farm Stores, which has 31 drive-thru convenience stores, debuted Farm Stores iExpress. The online shopping service offers a full line of products, according to Supermarket News.

Under the service, customers can order online at www.farmstores.com and pick up the orders at 17 Farm Stores throughout South Florida. Products available go beyond what is normally found at Farm Store locations. Traditionally, the c-stores stock staple items like milk, bread and eggs. However, online service offers a full line of supermarket products available at the chain's Gardner's Super Market subsidiary, according to the news outlet. Once ordered, the products will be transferred to the Farm Store locations where they will be stored, frozen and refrigerated until they are picked up.

"About eight years ago we thought, 'Wouldn't it be great if people could shop their entire grocery list without having to get out of the car?'" said Carlos Bared, chief executive officer of Farm Stores, in a statement. That concept, merged with current technology and consumer demand, became Farmstores.com, Supermarket News reported.

"We've hired the best experts in the field of online grocery shopping and have implemented state-of-the art mechanisms to ensure that we deliver an online grocery shopping experience that is competitively priced with traditional grocery supermarkets and truly convenient for our customers," added Bared.
