TORRANCE, Calif. -- Famima!!, a specialty Asian convenience food chain based here, selected StoreNext Retail Technologies LLC to provide retail technology for its current stores, and use the company to help in its growth plans for the coming years.
With the agreement, StoreNext will provide Famima!!'s U.S. stores with Fujitsu point-of-sale software and hardware, Epson multi-function printers, consulting services and enterprise software.
"We're currently undertaking a pan-Pacific expansion from Asia to the United States, and already have nine upscale food stores in the Los Angeles area. We plan to expand to 20 stores in California by the end of this year and more than 250 stores across the U.S. by 2009," said Shiro Inoue, president and chief executive officer of Famima!! Corp. "StoreNext and Fujitsu offered the best combination of hardware, software and services to meet our current needs, and they will play a vital role as we continue to open additional stores across the country."
"Fujitsu hardware combined with our ISS45 and Connected Services software gives Famima!! a competitive advantage as they expand across the U.S.," said Ray Carlin, president and CEO of StoreNext. "Connected Services, specifically, will help them reduce costs by providing a hosted software suite that eliminates the need for in-house application development and support."
Retail Management Systems will conduct the installation and provide service and support. Rollout will include Fujitsu's TeamPoS 2000M and iPAD mobile computing hardware for StoreNext Connected Services -- a line of Internet-based software. The combination will provide Connected Store Analysis and Reporting, Connected Item Hosting and Connected Direct Store Delivery.
"Many of the products we stock are quick-turn items, and to ensure freshness we need visibility by product and by category. Connected Services provides that and more," said Steve Odakura, general manager of information systems for Famima!!.
Famima!!, founded in September 2004, specializes in freshly-prepared packaged gourmet meals, including salads, sushi, panini, sandwiches, dim sum, as well as deli, hot soup, freshly-baked breads and desserts, organic gourmet coffee and other assorted hot and cold drinks.
