Evolution Fuels Forms Truck Stop, C-store Subsidiaries

DALLAS -- Evolution Fuels Inc. formed two new wholly owned subsidiaries—Legends Travel Centers and Evolution Fuel Plazas—to raise market awareness of renewable fuels.

Formerly known as Earth Biofuels, the company wants to "ultimately help achieve energy independence," it said in a statement. Its multi-pronged strategy includes building grassroots awareness of the availability of renewable fuels through the creation of renewable fuel depots, similar to its partly owned Willie's Place Truck Stop in the Hillsboro, Texas, market, named after singing legend Willie Nelson.

Legends Travel Centers will hold the company's ownership in the Willie's Place Truck Stop and will work to create similarly themed truck stops in the southwestern and southeastern regions of the United States. The truck stops will offer varying blends of biodiesel to truckers and fleet operators, as well as country music star memorabilia and souvenirs, trucker amenities and dining facilities.

By combining renewable fuels at the pump with a "destination travel experience," the company's management team believes multiple market segments will be served, driving traffic and sales.

Evolution Fuels' second subsidiary, Evolution Fuel Plazas, will offer urban and suburban fuel station/convenience store facilities that will sell ethanol fuel blends of 15 percent up to 85 percent, and other motor fuels to passenger vehicle drivers.

"Over the next several weeks we will be working to finalize sites for the initial fuel stations and truck stops," said Evolution Fuels' COO Tim Harrington. "We are in the process of establishing fuel supply and pump arrangements for the blended fuels."

The company will pursue potential partners for the acquisition and construction of truck stop facilities.

Evolution Fuels has a biodiesel production facility in Durant, Okla.
