BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Delta Sonic Car Wash Systems Inc. has entered into a deal with Wincor Nixdorf Inc. of Austin, Tex., to furnish point-of-sale systems for the car wash and convenience store chain.
Wincor Nixdorf said Delta Sonic will use the Beetle/iPOS systems at its 26 car wash and convenience stores. Wincor Nixdorf reseller Pinnacle Corp. will provide retail application software for the system. Terms of the deal were not released.
Delta Sonic, a subsidiary of Benderson Development Corp., chose the Beetle/iPOS hardware platform, which includes touch screens, cash drawers, printers and scanners. The system will be installed in all of Delta Sonic's 26 stores by the end of 2003, according to the Texas company.
Delta Sonic car wash opened its first car wash in 1967 and has expanded to other locations in New York, Illinois and Pennsylvania.
Wincor Nixdorf produces point-of-purchase sales equipment and automatic teller machines. Wincor Nixdorf's German parent is Wincor Nixdorf GmbH & Co., which operates in about 70 countries.
