This marked the promotion's sixth consecutive year.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Cumberland Farms rang in 2013 with its annual free coffee promotion that began at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31 and ended at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1.

For the sixth consecutive year, the Massachusetts-based convenience store chain invited customers to stop by any Cumberland Farms location that offers Farmhouse Blend for a free cup of hot or iced coffee.

"The New Year's celebration is a fun and festive American ritual," Ari Haseotes, Cumberland Farms' president, said. "We are a company rooted in tradition; giving back to the communities we serve is a long-standing Cumberland Farms belief."

Family-owned Cumberland Farms operates nearly 600 c-stores across 11 states.
