Cumberland Farms Giving Away Coffee This Month

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Convenience store chain Cumberland Farms will give away free cups of its Farmhouse Blend coffee for the next three Fridays, the Boston Globe reported.

New Englanders are certainly java-crazed as the coffee competition between Dunkin' Donuts and McDonald's can attest, the report noted. Looking to raise its coffee profile, Cumberland Farms debuted its Farmhouse Blend in fall 2008. This week, Cumberland Farms announced it will be offering a free cup of that coffee to customers on March 11, March 18 and March 25.

The retailer, with nearly 200 stores in Massachusetts, wants to underscore its commitment to coffee with the March Friday freebies, Cumberland Farms said in a press release.

A cup of Farmhouse Blend, any size, costs 99 cents during the rest of the week, the chain said.
