NEW YORK -- CSNews Online was honored with the Standard of Excellence award in the 2002 WebAwards Competition sponsored by the Web Marketing Association (WMA).
The WebAwards Competition provides Web professionals recognition and validation for their outstanding work, according to the association. CSNews Online, entered in the news category, was recognized for its daily news, Web site design and interactive daily newsletter.
A record 1,300 sites from around the world were entered in the 2002 competition, making it the most competitive since the organization launched the awards in 1997. Entries were judged based on design, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, ease of use, and use of technology.
Other winners honored include Exxon Mobil Corp. Shell Oil Co., Anheuser-Busch, Philip Morris Cos. Inc., Citgo Petroleum Corp. and The Wall Street Journal.
WMA was founded to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and corporate Web development. Staffed by volunteers, this Boston-based organization is made up of Internet marketing, advertising, public relations and design professionals from around the country who share an interest for improving the quality of advertising, marketing and promotion used to attract visitors to corporate Web sites.
